Background
Lake Macquarie Airport, also known as Belmont Airport, is located in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Marks Point. The airport was established in 1962 and has since been a hub for various aviation activities, including Matt Hall Racing’s Aerobatic Flights, Skydive the Beach and Beyond, Newcastle Helicopters making it a popular destination for those seeking aerial experiences. Altitude Aviation – Aeromedical Rescue Retrieve and private charter, Airborne Flight Training Microlight and Gyroplane Flights also operate out of the Airport.
The airport’s location on a narrow peninsula between the Pacific Highway and a tidal inlet provides stunning views and access to the surrounding coastline and hinterland.
